Like all children, my son Jack (3), says some of the funniest things I've ever heard. I've been jotting them down in random places, here and there, but I wanted a place just to keep all of those funny things.
This little 5" x 5" On Board Journal works just perfect for this project. When I think of the things he says, "That's Random" definitely fits the bill.
I decorated the outside using the So Cool Stamp Set and bits and pieces from the Crew Kids Boy Simply Scrappin' Kit. I had done several other projects and pages with this kit previously and still had a lot left. Even after making this journal there is a lot left. I'm always amazed at the amount of materials in one of those Simply Scrappin' Kits (SSK).
I recently helped a friend pick out a SSK to make her daughters first year/baby book from. She purchased a SSK, package of coordinating 12x12 cardstock and a couple rolls of ribbon. I'm certain she'll have more than enough materials to make the entire book and the SSK's make it so easy because everything coordinates. I have gotten so used to purchasing kits or using Stampin' Up! products (which are all designed to go together) that I find it difficult to work any other way.
I only have one child, but if you'd like to make a similar book for yourself and you have more than one child you could certainly divide the book into sections using the Round Tab Punch and put each child's name on a tab.
