Happy Halloween Eve

I love Halloween.  I've always wondered if it was because I was born near Halloween or just because of the colors and a chance to dress up as anything you like.

One of the things that has drawn me to stamping and crafting is making fun little things for people, just to brighten their day.  I'm amazed I actually managed to make these cards and get them in the mail before Halloween!

I made this card for my nieces and one without the bow for my newphew and a couple other little boys including my son. 

What started it all was purchasing one of the $5 containers of fun foam Halloween shapes.  I had no idea how many pieces were in one of those containers and I knew there was no way we'd be abgle to use them up.  So I added a little packet of them to the inside of each of the cards. Come to find out that little bit of fun foam really makes for a lumpy envelope, which means you have to put extra postage on them because they have to be hand sorted, but definately worth it.  Little kids LOVE to get mail.  I even mailed my sons to him so he would get mail too.  He opened it last night and you'd have thought he's won the lottery.

The design of the card is CASED from one my mom did, which she mostly CASED from someone on SCS.

November Technique Club

Cards for a Cause

Splitcoast Stamper's has started a monthly event called Cards for a Cause.  Each month they choose a different charity and ask SCS users to create cards and send them in and then SCS gets them to the charity.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month they decided to help out an organization called Chemo Angels.

This is the card I created for the cause.  I'm sending about 10 or so and my mom also created several to send.

Many of us forget what a great resourse the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog can be.  The inspiration for this card was taken right from page 45, the card on the far left. 

Of the dozen or so Christmas card designs I've done already this is one of my favorite and it is very simply and fairly quick.

Santa's Cottage

In the last week or so I've been working on Christmas Cards.  Trying out different stamp sets and styles.  The To You and Yours stamp set has to be my favorite this year.  Well the little house in the set to be more specific.  Needless to say you'll be seeing lots of cards witht his little house on it.

The Riding Hood Red/Very Vanilla Striped ribbon just screams candy cane to me.  Then add it to the little house and this has to be Santa's North Pole Cottage.

If you're not familiar with Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challeneges let me introduce you.  There is a different type of challenge posted everyday of the week on SCS.  Wednesday's are the Sketch Challenege.  So if your cruising the gallery over at SCS and see a card name with SC### that stands for Sketch Challenge and the Number.
