This is the same card as I posted yesterday other than a change in the color strips behind the butterfly. What makes this card design unique is where it opens on the edge. When the card is open you have a nice decorative strip on the right side.
As promised here is a quick how-to on making this style of card. Supplies
Stamps: Great Friend 113792
Inks: Rich Razzleberry 115658 and Soft Suede 115657 (for sponging)
Paper: Cottage Wall DSP 115671, Whisper White 100730 and Old Olive 100702 Cardstock
Other: Corner Rounder 109047 and sponge 101610
Begin with these pieces:
Cut 1/2" from the right side of the Whisper White Card Base Front and 1/2" from the right side of the DSP as shown.
Adhere the now 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" piece of DSP to the card base front.
Adhere the 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of DSP to the Card Base. This piece will actually be adhered to what we would normally consider the inside of the card (in this case it shows on the front because 1/2" of the front has been cut off).
Lightly sponge Soft Suede Classic Ink onto both the 3/4" x 5 1/2" piece of dark DSP and the 1/8" strip of Old Olive CS. Now add these to the card front as shown.
To finish up the card corner round the four corners then sponge the card edges lightly with Soft Suede Classic Ink. Cut out the three stamped butterflies and adhere them with Stampin' Dimensionals.

It's great when two of your favorite things go together, like chocolate and peanut butter, or in this case Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper and the butterfly from the Great Friends stamp set.
This card is a little different in that the card front is 1/2" shorter on the width than the card back. This lets the butterflies stand out even more.

Here is one of my all time favorite cards using the Love You Much stamp set and Heart to Heart Punch.
This card also features the Season of Friendship Stamp Set (111776) found on page 114 of the Idea Book & Catalog, the Top Note Sizzix Die (113463), a Stampin' Up! exclusive and the Scallop Circle (109043) and 1 1/4" Circle (104403) Punches.
Yesterday's card was simple and chic and today's card portrays more of a modern elegance but both used the same stamp set, Circle Circus. That's the great thing about stamps, ink and paper, there is so much you can do with the same supplies and get totally different looks.
TIP: When I was creating this card I felt like I needed a dark border below the circles. When I tried a strip of Chocolate Chip it just didn't go with the card at all. Instead I kept with the monochromatic look by sponging Soft Suede CS with Soft Suede Ink. Normally sponging means adding a little color at the edge of a piece of CS, this time however I rubbed the sponge over the CS strip to get it thoroughly covered with ink. The result . . . a darker piece of Soft Suede CS, just what this card needed.

The new Circle Circus Stamp Set has been one of the hits of the new catalog. It has 10 different circle images that range from very simple to sophisticated. I've seen some wonderful creations made with this set and can't wait to use it again.
This is another simple and clean card. That seems to be my style lately. I seem to go through phases where I want lots of embellishments and layers and then times like now where clean and simple fits the bill.
Here's what I used to make this easy card:

Tip: Anytime I use a dark cardstock for my cardbase I add a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White CS to the inside of the card. This way my stamping and writing show up and are easy to read.

Watermelon!
With all the school supplies already out in the stores I feel the need to try and hang on to summer a little longer. Watermelons are definately one of the icons of summer.
These are just happy simple cards, they just make me smile and are easy to boot. The hello card would be perfect for just that, a hello, how are you?, you were on my mind type of card. The little folded watermelon would make a great gift tag, add a little strip of white cardstock to write a picnic menu item on or cut it in half for a great scrapbook page accent. You could even take a bite out of the watermelon using the scallop punch!

Here's what you'll need:
Stamps: Polka Dot Background Stamp 109276 (currently on the dormant list) and "Hello" from Chic Boutique 113744 or other sentiment
Paper: Certainly Celery 105125, Whisper White 100730, Ruby Red (102030)
Inks: Basic Black 101179, Ruby Red 102259, Certainly Celery 105217 and Creamy Caramel 103220 (all Classic Inks)
Other: Black & White Gingham Ribbon, Scallop Circle Die with Big Shot, Sponges for inking, Circle cutter
Scallop Watermelon Card:

Oh and if you need a little watermelon project for the kiddos here is one my son, Jack, made at Mother's Day Out last month. Just cut a paper plate in half and let them go to town painting their watermelon.
Supplies:
1. Cut four Scallop Envelopes using the Scallop Envelope Die and Big Shot. Remember to cut the envelopes one at a time or you'll end up with lines cut where they should be scored. Lay out all of the envelopes with the good side up.
(The good or front side is more finished. The back side is rougher where the cuts are made).
2. With the good side facing up cut off the right flap of all four envelopes.
3. Turn all of the envelopes over so the back side is up and apply sticky strip as shown.
4. Remove the Sticky Strip backing and adhere the envelopes together. Place the flap with the Sticky Strip is under the envelope to the right. Repeat until your envelopes look like this.
5. The last flap should be adhered to the inside of the first envelope.
6. Flip the box onto its top. Place Sticky Strip on two of the flaps. Remove the backing and adhere together to form the bottom of the box. Pay attention that the box remains square while you're completing this step.
This is now what your box should look like.
7. Cut two strips of DSP. One 2" x 11" and another 2" x 3 1/4". I chose to sponge the long edges of the DSP with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. Adhere the longer strip around the box as shown. I recommend putting sticky strip along the two short ends of the long strip and some regular SNAIL adhesive several places along the middle.
8. Adhere the smaller piece as shown. Again I recommend putting Sticky Strip on the short ends. For this piece that's all the adhesive that's really necessary.
9. Remove the Sticky Strip backing from all four envelope flaps and adhere to the sides over the DSP.
10. Last cut a 13" length of 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (Old Olive shown) to wrap around the box. I placed about four 1/2" pieces of Sticky Strip on the ribbon, one at each end and two in the middle. Then put a small Clear Rhinestone Brad through one of the flowers, both from the Pretties Kit, and adhere to the box over the ribbon using two Mini Glue Dots.
Last year when we made this box it was during the holidays so it was the perfect way to give handmade ornaments. I'm curious to see what uses yall can come up with for this box during the summer.

Last year in one of my holiday classes we made a super cute open topped boxes using the Scallop Envelope Die, a Stampin' Up! exclusive. Recently I came across another box using this die. Only Stampin' Up! junkies could figure out how to make not one but two boxes from an envelope die!
Here's a step by step on how to make the box.
Supplies:
1. Begin by cutting a 2 3/4" x 12" piece of cardstock and two Scallop Envelopes using the die and Big Shot. Score the long strip of cardstock at 2 1/4", 5 1/2", 7 3/4" and 11". Fold and crease using bone folder. If you plan to add stamping to your box now is the time to do it.
Tip: Cut the envelopes individually. When I tried cutting two at a time one of the envelopes ended up being cut where it should have been scored.
2. Add Sticky Strip to both envelopes as shown in the photo. (I swapped out the red envelope in this picture for a kraft colored one so you could see the Sticky Strip.)
3. Remove the Sticky Strip backing from the large non scalloped envelope flap and attach to the box as shown.
4. Repeat with the second envelope.
5. Remove the Sticky Strip backing from the sides of the envelopes and attach. You should do this one at a time so things don't get stuck in the wrong places.
6. Corner Round the edges of the lid flap.
I made this box quite simple by adding a 15" piece of the new 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Chocolate Chip. I'll definitely be making a few more and adding stamping and other embellishments.
