Something every crafter struggles with is organizing. While I have yet to come up with the perfect system for everything, one thing I feel I have a handle on is my 8 1/2" x 11" paper.
It is such a simple and obvious solution but still worth mentioning. I've found a file cabinet with hanging files is the best way to store my 8 1/2" x 11" paper and all the scraps I seem to create. I keep each color of paper in it's own hanging folder along with all the scraps of the same color. I used to keep all my scraps in their own bin sorted by color but I never seemed to use them because they were across the room. Now they are right next to me along with all my paper in the filing cabinet. This has really saved me some money because I am using all my scraps instead of just sorting and storing them.
If you'd like to get your paper organized here's what you'll need:
- Filing Cabinet
- 61 Hanging File Folders (if you want a folder for all the colors)
- 1/5 Cut File Folder Tabs
- Printable File Folder Labels (Like Avery 8366)
- 2009-2010 File Folder Color Labels
Note: I really like the filing cabinet I have because it has two file drawers and a small drawer at the top for office supplies or in my case stamping supplies. The one I have is available at Walmart (I didn't find it at Walmart.com) for less than $40 and comes in several colors.
