Everyone has loved the curly paper wreath over the years and this year I wanted to do something a little different. I'm still amazed every time I make one at how gorgeous it is when I'm finished and how quick and easy it is to put together.
Here is a close up of the wreath itself.
To make one all you need is half a package of Designer Series Paper (that's six sheets), a styrofoam wreath form, you want the hard kind, and straight pins with small heads. The most important part is the Designer Series Paper. You absolutely need double sided paper because both sides show.
Even better, here's a curly paper wreath video tutorial!
To make the "J" and "Y" to go along with the curly paper wreath just stop by your favorite hobby store and pick up some wooden or paper mache letters. Believe it or not I had a hard time finding a "Y". Apparently, spelling out joy this time of year is a popular idea!
Trace around the letters on your Designer Series Paper, then cut the letters out about 1/8" smaller all the way around. Paint the letters. I used a medium brown color. Once dry adhere the paper letter to the wood letter and you're done.
I really wanted to hang my "joy" horizontally, but I didn't have anywher left in my house they would fit that way.
Great for decorating your home or office and a terrific gift. These wreaths go together from start to finish in about an hour.
